Dentist and Double Dumpers

Today was Matthew's first trip to the dentist.
After singing the alphabet song to the tech, he had his X-rays taken.

Then off to the freaky chair that reclines.  He did pretty good but he only let her clean four of his teeth.
After the dentist since it was only 8:20am, we decided to follow one of the double dumpers we have seen traveling up and down Maple Valley Highway lately to see where they are going.  Turns out way out in Black Diamond, there is a great big gravel pit/materials yard.  That killed about an hour and a half so now we are home and winding down to nap time.
It is supposed to be a scorcher (in the high 80s) so maybe later we'll end up at the beach!

Mother's Day 2012

Mother's Day dawned bright and sunny and started when Matthew got out of bed at 6:49am.  Actually about 45 minutes later than usual so we were already off to a great start.  My gift was delivered so I could open it in bed (it was the new pot I wanted to replace an old nonstick) then I got up so Daddy could go out and finish tying the fly he was in the middle of.  About and hour later Daddy came back in and I went back to bed (yahoo).  I slept until 11:30 when I woke up naturally, that never happens!!!  An even better 2nd start to Mother's Day.
After Matthew woke up from his nap we got our poop in a group, stopped by Grandma Joyce's then got on the ferry for an afternoon on Vashon Island.
Although a fabulous sunny afternoon, it was still chilly out on the water so we sat inside for most of this trip.

 Nearing the dock on Vashon.
Once on the island we headed straight through town to Point Robinson Park.  There is a lighthouse and a great beach there.  As you can see the pregnancy is advancing at an alarming rate, at least that's how it feels.  In this picture I am at the end of 32 weeks.

As with any trip tot he beach with Daddy it is filled with wonderful finds.  First one was a teeny crab.

Then snail shells with live snails in them followed by a few more crabs of varying species and sizes and some rocks covered in sand crabs.

Here these two are inspecting an anemone while I sat down for a while.  It was such a nice day even the mountain was out.

Daddy pointing out the little bait fish that were jumping out of the water as they were chased by a bigger fish.

Attempting a group photo with the mountain in the back but I think our heads are too big.

We finished off our afternoon with a little picnic near the lighthouse.
I had a fantastic day with my fellas, thanks for such a great day guys.

Nice Hot Afternoon

Saturday turned out to be a beautiful afternoon so after we got the few remaining flowers and tomatoes planted I set up the sprinkler for Matthew to play in.

Of course when you run through the sprinkler your shorts get wet and then...

 Don't stay up anymore.

After all the hard work and play we sat int he shade and had a cool drink
