Auntie Colleen Visits III

On Friday of Colleen's visit we stopped by the fire station on the way home from the mall. This was Matthew's first visit to a fire station. It is all fairly self explanatory. Needless to say he enjoyed himself.

To Vancouver for the Day AKA Auntie Colleen Visits II

The primary reason for Colleen's trip here was to see Daniel and "his" high school band play in a competition in Vancouver. Since she had the holidays booked off and Mum booked to look after Claire, even though she was rejected as a chaperone she decided to fly to Seattle. the plan was to hang out with us for a day before and after the band and we would drive up to Vancouver to watch the performance.

On Thursday morning we got in the car about 7:30 and headed north. After a slight error in venues we arrived just in time to get a seat in the front row and be awed by these kids.

This is just a snippet of the three songs they played. The band had 67 members there and I was very impressed with their skills. Even more impressive was watching the session of sight reading immediately after the performance and seeing Daniel so immersed in his element. He was at ease and happy and confident. He's growing up in to such a great young man, his mama should be proud (and I know she is otherwise she wouldn't have come all the way here to hang out with him for two hours!).

Auntie Colleen Visits Part I

The first full day of Auntie Colleen's visit we headed down to Gene Coulon Park to check out the beach at the south end of Lake Washington.
I thought our visit would consist mostly of this as the day was a little chilly and the water downright cold but was I ever wrong.
Before I knew it, he was up to his knees...
Then he was up to his crotch....
Then he had fallen down and was wet from his chin to his toes.
Soooo happy to be at the beach

After about 45 minutes, he was so cold his lips were starting to turn blue and all he could do was stand in one spot and shiver but he still didn't want to go home.

A Few Cute Vids

So this was the warm-up for the following videos. But he just couldn't stand still. I love this one because it showcases the cutest undies ever. Who knew little boy undies could be so adorable.

Coming soon a couple posts detailing Colleen's latest visit.

Happy Mother's Day

A wish for a happy, relaxing, lovely day with your families, or alone however you have chosen to spend it. We were up at 5:30am to make sure we got maximum enjoyment out of the day (please read with heavy sarcasm)!!

When I picked Matthew up from daycare on Friday I got my first hand crafted Mother's Day gift from him. It was cute but he just couldn't keep his hands off the colored sand in the mug (and I didn't think it was healthy to eat it) so I took a couple pictures and dismantled it. I will use the mug and think fondly of him, that is as long as I'm not being used as a human jungle gym.
