Blue Lake

After the Pas we moved the trailer to Blue Lake to spend the next four days hanging out by the camp fire and at the beach.
The trucks went everywhere with us.
Our first visitors were Uncle Bob, Auntie Margaret and Chris and her girls.
We went to the beach and the kids played and played and played.
Turns out Chris is a much more indulgent Mum than I am and actually went in the water with her kids. Mine have learned to not waste the energy asking.  Nana went in too so that appeased Matthew.
Alex wasn't too excited about swimming either but LUCKILY there was a GIANT mud puddle to play in.
The cousins.  Yes this was the best picture we could manage.

Chillin' with Papa at the end of another long, fun filled day
Our campsite. We also had visits from Auntie Marge, Uncle Lorne and ALice and Cheryl Case and her family.  You know my mum, she is a true blue social butterfly even when we are camping in the Manitoba wilderness.

Here alex was dancing while Auntie Edith was humming.

Alex was so tired from his camping adventures that on the way back to Roblin, he fell asleep mid chip.

Matthew's First Fish

On day two of the reunion, I was sitting around relaxing when I was told to hurry up to the river, Matthew had caught a huge fish.

By the time I arrived a crowd had gathered.
There it is.
Its so big he can hardly hold it up.  It was a 25 and 1/4 inch jack fish.
His entourage from the fishing expedition.
Dragging it across the lawn to show it off to everyone else.
All were suitably impressed.
Since Papa was not there for the catch he proudly filleted it for Matthew
and a few days later proudly cooked for Matthew to eat.

And thus the one goal Matthew had for the trip (catch a fish and eat it) was accomplished.

Skunk Hat

A friend of Terry's had this hat that they made out of a  skunk they trapped at work.  Its not something you see everyday so pictures were essential.

Cryderman Reunion Day 2

Alex enjoying the Texas Caviar that Auntie Helen made.
He wasn't eating it so much as he was using the chips as buckets to carry it over to Uncle Jules to eat.

Sharing a marshmallow with Papa

My cousin Andrew who I haven't seen since he was about 6.
More sand box action
Uncle Lorne's new port-a-potty since the one in their trailer wasn't wring.  We are truly a family that makes do1
Anyone who knows my mum knows exactly what this is all about

My cousin Jayden eating with Alex.  He "adopted" him just as people were lining up for food and took him throughout he line and shared his entire dinner with him.  This ones a gooder ladies!

Cryderman Reunion Day 1

We spent Thursday in Roblin just hanging out then Friday morning got the trailer packed and drove up to The Pas for the reunion. The first (and really the only) place Alex played was the sand box.

He was filthy but oh so happy.

Manitoba 2014

At the very end of July we headed back to Manitoba for a two week visit with Nana and Papa to include the Cryderman Family reunion, camping and more visiting with the Brandon relatives.

After a VERY long day of driving and flying, we arrived in Regina.  Mom and Dad had scoped out this great park where we stopped for a picnic and some play time before we got back in the car for the 3 hour ride to Roblin.
