Damien Spends the Day

On July 22nd, we invited Matthew's friend Damien over to hang out and go to the pool.
Since they had the doors wide open, we decided we'd stop in at the fire station. Alex refused to get anywhere near that big truck.

Flathead Lake Day 7

Well technically we weren't at Flathead Lake anymore but were on the way home.  It was hot and I am thankful Betsy's AC was fixed before we left. We stopped on the east side of the Columbia River to let the kids out to run around a bit.  Matthew got mad at me because I wouldn't let him climb over the edge of the cliff.  My goodness, such a mean Mummy.

Flathead Lake Day 6

Our last day at the lake.  It was another gorgeous day of cool mornings and sunny afternoons.  To be honest we were all a little bored (and Nana was sad) but still enjoyed ourselves.
The beach was rocky but beautiful pinks and blues.
Matthew figured out that when you come out of the cold water the best thing to do is lay down on the hot rocks.  I tried it and it was wonderful.

Every sunset was unique.

We had a wonderful time.  It was so relaxing and fun and amazingly beautiful.
I am infinitely grateful to have had this time with my parents and my kids.
We have already started planning next summers trip and we will definitely be back to this area if not to this exact campground.  Hoping next time Colleen and co. can join us.

Flathead Lake Day 5

This morning it rained so we got to stay in the camper and play some games with the kids.  It was refreshing change of pace and we had a lot of laughs.  Alex and I went for a little walk not he way to the potty so I took a picture of the campground.  As you can see, all the sites were right on the water.

Matthew and his new friend Gannon from Missoula.  This nest blew out of a tree in the storm. Between Gary and Gannon he spent a couple days with a trio of little girls who had a blow up mattress to play with in the water.
The view looking up the lake to the northwest.

The boys found a snake.
Gannon was really excited about it but was definitely NOT touching it.
Perusing with Papa.

Panorama!
Helping Papa get the fire going by blowing on it.
Matthew showing Gannon videos on my phone.

The fam around the fire.  You can see the camper behind Nana (the one on the left) and see how close we were to the beach.
I shall leave you with this.
