videos of the cake

Post Massacre Fun

After a bath for both kids we presented Alex with his gifts.  We didn't wrap any of them so there was no actual opening.
He got a sit and stand from Grandma which he chose to sit on and a Bulldozer so that when Matthew is playing with trucks there is one for Alex

Stacking doughnuts.
His first cell phone
Finally at the end of a very long day Matthew got to play with the toys.
 Chatting with Daddy.

At the very end I decided we should get some family photos.  This was the best by far.  Maybe tomorrow at the fire works we can get some group pics.

The Lovely Dinner that Turned Gruesome

We had a simple but delicious dinner of steak and potato salad followed by desert.
A teacup made of chocolate and filled with berries.
A Monster's Inc. Cake Pop.
A cute fuzzy red monster cake for Alex.
He is really not sure what all this is about.

A little poke to test it.
Daddy helps with the first taste to get things moving.
There we go, getting into it now.
And now if he could only get close enough to get his whole face in there at once.
 Sharing with Daddy.
 Not sharing with Mummy.

And this was where we realized we had made a terrible mistake.
Turns out when you smear red icing and chocolate cake all over the place it ends up looking like  your kid is covered in blood.
 Happy to share with Matthew.
The adults are keeping their distance now.
 Very scary.
 A little sugar kicking in.

"How old are you?  "I'm One!!"
OR
"How many people did you have to kill to get this cake?"   "ONE"
Then the clean up began.
And turned into the shower scene from Carrie

birthday activity #2

When we were at the store eralier in the day Aaron picked up this giant styrofoam glider.
To kill some time before dinner, we got it out.
It was a really good flyer.  Especially doing loo de loops.
Fun to see where it might end up with each flight.
And although it was big, Matthew could still pick it up.  We played with it until its nose was pretty mashed in and the wings wouldn't stay on in flight.

One Whole Year

As shocking as it is to all of us, Alex has been a part of our family for one whole year.  We spent the day celebrating.  The morning was swimming lessons, a breakfast at Sheri's and a trip tot he store to buy the dinner supplies.
After lunch and a nap, we headed down to our favorite river beach to cool off.
Matthew got all the sticks out of the river.
Aaron was tough and got in to actually swim
 As did Matthew.
Alex likes the water even when its kinda cold.
 Mama and her littlest man.
