To Vancouver for the Day AKA Auntie Colleen Visits II

The primary reason for Colleen's trip here was to see Daniel and "his" high school band play in a competition in Vancouver. Since she had the holidays booked off and Mum booked to look after Claire, even though she was rejected as a chaperone she decided to fly to Seattle. the plan was to hang out with us for a day before and after the band and we would drive up to Vancouver to watch the performance.

On Thursday morning we got in the car about 7:30 and headed north. After a slight error in venues we arrived just in time to get a seat in the front row and be awed by these kids.

This is just a snippet of the three songs they played. The band had 67 members there and I was very impressed with their skills. Even more impressive was watching the session of sight reading immediately after the performance and seeing Daniel so immersed in his element. He was at ease and happy and confident. He's growing up in to such a great young man, his mama should be proud (and I know she is otherwise she wouldn't have come all the way here to hang out with him for two hours!).
