Flathead Lake Day 4

This day Dad and I took a trip into town for a few things(food, a floatie, flathead cherries) then again enjoyed the beach.

Matthew found a few of these bugs and several grasshoppers to use for fish bait.
The cute couple a few days before their 47th wedding anniversary.

Another amazing sunset as the clouds roll in.

Flathead Lake Day 3

Now that we knew how the weather was going to go throughout the day, we enjoyed the cool morning then went down on the beach for the later part of the day.

I don't have any of these kind of close ups of Matthew because he never sits still long enough for it.

Flathead Lake Day 2

On our second day at Flathead lake we just lazed around for most of the day.  It was cool and breezy for the morning so we went into town then as the sun came around over the trees it got pretty hot until sunset.

Matthew got to play on Gary's paddle board.  Gary was the first friend Matthew made at the campground.
Heading down to the dock to fish with Papa.

Another lovely sunset.

Flathead Lake Day 1

On July 7th, the boys and I piles int he car and drove 7 hours to Flathead Lake Montana to camp with Nana and papa for a week.  They had slowly made their way down from Onoway stopping several places along the way.  When we arrived they were all set up and ready for us.
Matthew was in the water before I could get the suits unpacked so i had him strip down.
Alex found the snacks.
Alex was enjoying the beach too.

Our campsite was right on the water so it was easy to have one or two people at the water with the kids while one or two people were up at the camper prepping meals or cleaning or napping or whatever.
The suits are on and Papa was instructing.

a lovely first evening

it is so exciting to sleep in the camper.
Beautiful sunset.

July 4th and Alex's Party

For Alex's actual birthday not he 3rd, I took cupcakes to daycare and had helium balloons and cupcakes for breakfast.

On the fourth we had his party starting with a trip to the pool.

Snack are truly the most important part of the pool.

After the pool we came back to the house and had tacos, gifts and cake with Grandma.

After dinner, we went outside to do some small fireworks.

I even got to light a few with the boys.

I've never been a huge proponent of at home fireworks but I have to admit they were really fun.

Our Grand Finale!
