Thanksgiving 2011

This year's Thanksgiving prep was really tough for me. I was so tired and nauseas I was barely able to enjoy it all. Luckily Aaron prepared the turkey and Grandma Joyce brought some dishes.
The big spread.
Enjoying pumpkin pie with Grandma.

When your kid gets quiet

I had put clean sheets on the bed and made it up all nice then took the 4 loads of clean laundry and set it on top. After dinner Matthew disappeared and was super quiet. When I called to ask him where he was he said "sleeping". Unfortunately all the clean laundry had to be removed from the bed in oder for him to sleep.

Walking the Dog

Archie is such a good dog that he never pulls on the leash when Matthew is at the helm.

The Belly Dance

I'm posting this because it is cute and because I know you all will not judge me for having a messy
bedroom.

Funny Blog I Found

I found this through another blog I read (the blogess) and it made me laugh out loud. I don't know though, the crying, the laughing a lot, maybe I am a little emotionally unbalanced this holiday season!

Day 319: Self Help Advice From a 2 Year Old

by JASON GOOD on NOVEMBER 22, 2011

  1. Challenge yourself every day. Try climbing the stairs carrying two soccer balls while wearing your father’s shoes. Remember, failure IS an option.

  2. De-clutter! Start by throwing all your dishes in the garbage. After that I suggest toothbrushes and important paper work.

  3. Pee on the floor and stomp in it like a puddle. You’ll be shocked how much better you feel.

  4. Whether the glass is half empty or half full is irrelevant if you dump it out on the sofa. You’re welcome.

  5. If you’re feeling aggressive, or just bored, scream in a cat’s face.

  6. Don’t ever be afraid to hand someone an ice cube while they’re on the toilet. That stuff is cold. You don’t have to be in pain!

  7. Socks are poison. Trust me, don’t wear them! Happiness will soon follow!

  8. Pound on a computer keyboard like Jerry Lee Lewis playing the piano. Feel better? I thought so. Great Balls of Fire!

  9. If you fall down, stay down. Someone will pick you up eventually.

  10. Quick thrills fuel the heart. Have you learned to delete things off the DVR yet? DO IT. It’s AwWwWwEsOmE.

  11. Seize the day and the night and the middle of the night and the early morning. Seize everything, y’all! Never stop seizing stuff.

  12. Tired of looking at yourself in the mirror? So was I until I met my friendpermanent marker. FACE TATTOOS ARE RAD.

  13. This might be a tough one, but you gotta trust me: Take a crap in the tub. It’s surreal.

  14. Live in the moment because there is nothing else. Seriously, there isn’t. Not that I’m aware of at least.

  15. If you’re gonna run, do it at top speed, man. Life is too short to walk in the mall.

  16. I’ve seen God, and his name is iPad. Let us pray.

Trick or Treating

On Monday October 31st, we got Matthew into his costume and went out to find some candy.

Going across the street to Dennis and Janice's.
Up the steps.
Demonstrating proper trick or treating protocol.
Trying to go inside. Apparently he has completely forgotten the lessons we learned last year.
Down the steps and off to the next house.

Showing off the booty.
Getting into Godzilla while enjoying a piece of candy.

Snuggling with Daddy and winding down with Gozilla. He took his pointy Gozilla's to bed with him.

Pumpkin Carving 2011

Ok, I realize it has been a few weeks since I posted and that this post is way past due but the Wednesday after we returned from Colleen's I came down with a nasty cold that totally sapped all my energy. Truly, I was so tired that the thought of doing a blog post almost made me cry. So a couple weeks late, here is the pumpkin carving (with Trick or Treating to follow).

This year Matthew got to dig some of the pumpkin guts out by himself.

A BIG scoop of gloop.

Digging goop out of pumpkins gets old fast so I snapped a couple close ups of M on the slide.

At the end, Matthew insisted I take a picture of him sitting on the big rock.

The final product. This year we only have two carved master pieces because my pumpkin became ill and rotted into a pile of mush while we were in Edmonton. So: Aaron's is on the left and is Cartman from South Park and Matthew's is on the right and turned out to be a vampire kitty.
