Cup of Sugar

Sent Matthew down the street to his friend's house with a little cup for milk so we can make mac n cheese. First time he came back with nothing, second time he came back with this. I guess we aren't having Kraft Dinner.
😒

Pumpkin Patch 2015

Again this year we went to the pumpkin patch with the Monacans with plans to head back to their place afterward to watch the Seahawks game and visit.  The Camerons also joined in again this year.

Puyallup Fair 2015

Cool Star Wars guys hanging around right when you walk in.
The old fashioned carousel is a must and a nice easy way to get things started.
Haunted house that wasn't really very scary at all even for three year olds.
Little guys roller coaster.
Little guys cars.
Little guys helicopter ride.
Little guys truck ride and Matthew has HAD IT with the LITTLE KIDS rides
So we went and found The Scrambler. It was the end of the day and we were ready to go home so we thought this ride would scare the bejesus out of him and then he will be ready to go home.

Of course he LOVED it and couldn't wait for more.
Unfortunately, we didn't have enough ticket left for any more rids and we were too tired to do any more.  Next year we will have to divide our resources and have one parent (Aaron) go on the crazy rides with M and I will escort Alex to the little guy rides.

School Carnival

The end of September brought us the school carnival.
It was an opportunity fro me to get to the school and meet some of the teachers and see how Matthew was getting on. He introduced me to all the new friends he has met and had a blast taking part in all the activities.
They did sparkly tattoos.
Alex got one too!

And they do this crazy thing called a cake walk. its like musical chairs but if you win, you get to take home a CAKE!! The best thing ever!

Twin Falls Hike

The next hike weekend, Daddy decided to stay home because it was raining.  My motto that day: we won't melt, get in the car.
By the time we got 15 minutes from home, the sun was shining and it was a lovely day.
Someone was nice enough to take picture of us and Matthew was nice enough to pretend we was sleeping while the picture was taken.
This is how Matthew hikes so he ends up going about half again as far as everyone else.
Our first look at the falls.

An amazingly huge rotted out tree trunk.

Lunch spot at the half way mark (2 miles)

The view from our lunch spot of the falls
A slightly closer view
The three of us. We are pretty dern awesome!
Here we are again!
On the way back, we went off trail and climbed down to the river.
Look at us.  I could totally use a selfie stick, my arms are just not long enough.

Of course Matthew found a cool bug.

Another nice hiker stopped to take a picture.
Unfortunately, she takes pictures as good as my mom.
A well spent day.

Taylor Mountain

September weather  continued to be lovely so we went on another hike.  This one to Taylor Mountain.  Closer to home but less scenic.

At the top there was a large picnic table with
a nice view
and an awesome tree!

There were lots of garter snaked enjoying the weather too!
How we got down the mountain.

Note: next time do  a shorter hike with less elevation change because Alex is more of a rider than a walker.
