August on the River

Yesterday was a fabulous day so we drove up river a bit to check out a part of the Cedar I had never seen.
Daddy fishing, Matthew throwing rocks into the water which is really the only reason he comes to the river with us. Well that and he's too little to stay home alone.
This is a little hard to see but Matthew is actually standing very still, barely touching the fly line coming out of the end of Aaron's rod asking "what's this?". He knows he is not supposed to touch that stuff so he was being extremely careful.
Showing Matthew the fly/bug he is about to tie on.
Matthew checking out all the cool little boxed Daddy has in his bag.
Showing Matthew how you spit on the line to make it slide easier into a knot.
Daddy teaching Matthew about the life cycle of the Caddis fly.
Sharing all the cool bugs with Daddy.
Making a wish.
