Birthday Flowers

I was so lucky to have so many people remember my birthday this year. These are the pictures of the flowers that I recieved.

An Azalea from Kathy to put in the yard in a beautiful bright red. Exactly what I wanted.

Some of the plants that I admired in Richelle's yard to have for my very own. The little white ones smell really good and the purple one are SUPERtunias!

And a HUGE and GORGEOUS bouquet from Colleen, Curtis, Daniel and Claire.

Thank to everyone who called or sent emails or messages on Facebook. It was a sad day because my hormones took over but each thought from all of you helped make it a little better!

More Flowers for Mum

In case you hadn't figure it out from the title, we have had another round of blooming in the yard and this is what has transpired. All of these are currently in the yard:

We have three Lilac trees. One white

One Purple

and One Hybrid, which is totally cool.

These cute and vibrant blue flowers in the planter next to the driveway. They are so brillant they look like they are glowing.

White Rhodies.

Pink Rhodies.

Apple Blossoms.

The Yellow Tulips from the last set of pictures turned out ultimately to be orangey.

Red Fringey Tulips.

These Large pink flowers blooming off some kind of vine that is growing along the fence behind the devil's walking stick.

My attempt at creating a color spot at the front door. It consists of a chocolate mint plant (that Archie tried to assasinate, notice the edge of the small green pot) a yellow pansy, some small purple pansies, a baby geranium and two lavender plants. Hopefully as the summer progresses there will be a little more color there.

Miscellaneous Archie

I mentioned once before that Archie likes to go to bed early. He tends to dribble off around 8 o'clock and this is where he can be found. Laying on his blanket in the bedroom out cold until I flip on the light. Although he wakes up he rarely moves, even if you accidentaly bump him in the nose with your foot (not that I have ever done that ;) ).

This is what happens when you leave archie alone in the back yard with the screen door closed. You said two weeks, right Colleen. It took him less than a week to be comfortable enough to be bad. Apparently we have some things to learn about living with Archie. Wasn't it nice of him to pose for the photo op?!

Another choice sleeping spot. Up against the long wall of the living room where one can properly elevate one's legs. I think he might like doggie Yoga.

Puppy Love

Whenever Aaron sits down in this chair Archie comes over to get some lovin'.

He sits at Aaron's feet and leans back, just in case Aaron wasn't sure why his was there.

Then as he leans in, rests a big 'ol paw on your leg or arm and looks up at you in hopes of bestowing some puppy kisses on you. Which Aaron gladly accepts.

This will go on for as long as you can stand it because Archie can never get enough.

Flowers Flowers Everywhere

For mum: these are all the different flowers we have blooming in our yard right now:

Bluebells along the south side of the house behind the roses.

Bleeding heart? next to the front door in my fabulous newly edged flower bed.

Large pink Rhododendron flowers

and small pink rhododendron flowers along the south side of the yard at the foot of the hedge

Yellow tulips in the large planter in the front yard.

Red tulips in a whiskey barrel out by the drive way.

My Busy (but not as busy as Colleen's) Weekend

So my project for this weekend was to get the front flower bed back in shape. The lawn had started to creep in and it was hard to tell where the lawn ended and the bed began.

I dug a straight line from end to end,

Cleaned all the grass and weeds out

and put in a plastic edger thingy that delineates the edge of the flower bed so that I can weed it and keep it pretty for flowers. It turned out so good that I am going to do the same to the rose bed on the south side of the house. While I did this, Archie lay in the shade over by the fence and Aaron hid in the house from all the allergens. I think we all enjoyed ourselves.

A Visitor for Archie

Last Wednesday Kathy came over to meet Archie.

What started out as a very polite visit on both their parts soon degraded to cuddles on the floor.

He even sat in her lap like he belived he weighed 10 lbs in stead of 80!!

Good news is, we have added one more name to the dog sitter list!
